Meet Our Owners
In a business where there are many competitors, families have choices about how to provide home care for their loved ones, Comfort Keepers strives to provide a personal touch. In fact, owners Debra Alexander and Ed Millan are the first people you will meet.
They visit the home of every prospective client, and they personally make the recommendations for the care and services that best meet your loved one’s needs.
“We are hands-on,” Debra said. “When we make every caregiver assignment, it’s personal. We are matchmakers. We make sure the caregiver is a perfect fit for the person’s needs and their personality. We want them to be like a member of your family.”
Debra and Ed started in Boca Raton in 2002, and quickly expanded to Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, and then into Greenacres and areas of Lake Worth and West Palm Beach. Their business continues to grow with more than 70 caregivers who work directly with clients. Ed proudly notes that all of his team members have been trained by him or Debra, and most are also students pursuing nursing degrees.
Debra and Ed have worked together since 2002 and make a point of visiting clients together.
“We get very involved with our clients as most of our families are out of state. Many of our clients are in their 90s and are here all alone. Sometimes they express their loneliness, and we assure them they are not alone now. We are here, and they are part of our Comfort Keepers family” Debra said.
Comfort Keepers Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest level of quality of life that is achievable. We shall treat each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, as though we were caring for a member of our own family.
The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home senior care (We call them Comfort Keepers®.) are carefully selected, screened, and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.
Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:
- An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
- A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
- A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
- A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.
With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
